As an organisation we take all possible steps to safeguard our clients and to ensure that the adults in our organisation are safe to work with our clients. The Magdalene Group complies fully with the DBS Code of Practice regarding the correct handling, use, storage, retention and disposal of Certificates and Certificate Information. It also complies fully with its obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 and other relevant legislation pertaining to the safe handling, use, storage, retention and disposal of Certificates and Certificate information and has a written policy which is available to those who wish to see it on request.

Community Matters

You might recall that The Magdalene Group was chosen to take part in the Community Matters scheme in John Lewis Norwich. This ran from May through to the end of July. Along with Break and Friends of Norwich in Bloom, we received funds dependent on tokens received by their customer voting box in The Place to Eat. We are delighted to report that our share is £977 which will go towards funding our EnRoute project. Thank you to everyone who voted for us; and thank you to John Lewis for the opportunity to be involved in this.

A warm welcome …

... to Jacqueline Kovacevic who joined us recently, as administrator for the new Rose Partnership; she will be working alongside Sylwia Sakowicz-Scott, the Missing/CSE lead for Barnardo's.

Employee of the Month

Our Employee of the Month award has been running for a while now. Rather remiss of me not to have reported on this before. However, timely to announce that July's unanimous nomination is the lovely Deb : “For being such a great ambassador of & for The Magdalene Group; for being such a support to the Rose team, in particular; & for being such a valued member of the whole team, in general." Deb, our Young People's Team Manager, starts her maternity leave shortly; she will be very much missed by us all, but we are very excited about her forthcoming event!

Welcome…

...to two new staff members - Abbie Haines who joined us recently as a support worker for our women's service, & Morwenna Chaffe who starts today as CSE Practitioner within our young people's team. Welcome to The Magdalene Group!
