Street Based Prostitution
Outreach
The team go out into the red light district in Norwich and offer practical support to women working on the streets. We offer on-the-spot help, a hot drink and a friendly face, information on other services, warm clothes, condoms and personal safety alarms.
Drop In
We invite the women we meet on outreach to come along to our drop in sessions throughout the week. Our drop in is a women only space where you can access the support that you need. This may be the basics such as a shower and a hot lunch. You may wish to meet with other working women and build friendships over a coffee. There is always a support worker available to help address individual issues such as addiction, mental, physical and sexual health, housing, finance, and domestic abuse.
Workshops
There are often workshops and activities taking place such as sewing, cooking, beauty treatments and arts and crafts.
Befriending
The team also offer befriending to women who feel they need more intensive support. Building a strong relationship on trust can support feelings of wellbeing, self-esteem and improve feelings of isolation.
Drop In sessions are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1pm until 4pm.
Prison Visiting
The team also visit women from Norfolk serving prison sentences. Our aim is to develop a strong relationship with those women and to help them re-engage with services on release and build positive relationships in the community.
