Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)

Doorway has an accredited Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) who is a victim-focused advocate trained to provide emotional and practical support to women who have experienced sexual violence.

We recognise that sex-working women may have barriers that prevent them from reporting. The ISVA will help you understand your rights and options and will support you whether you wish to report or not.

The ISVA will support you in accessing services relevant to your individual needs, whether it be housing, benefits, physical and sexual health, immigration advice, or access to counselling.

The ISVA will also support through the Criminal Justice System should you wish to report – liaising with the Police and Crown Prosecution Service throughout the process.
