Join The Magdalene Group and Norwich City Football Club for the 2026 Night‑Time Strut, a powerful evening walk through Norwich raising awareness of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Now in its third year, the Strut brings our community together to honour the women and girls whose lives have been taken by male violence and to stand in solidarity for a future free from fear, exploitation, and harm.
With VAWG now accounting for nearly one in five recorded crimes in England and Wales, this event is more urgent than ever. Building on the impact of last year’s Strut, we gather once again in remembrance, action and hope.
Date: Wednesday 10th June 2026
Time: Assemble 7:30pm
Location: Millennium Plain, Norwich, NR2 1TF
Entry fee: £10.00 (book via Eventbrite)
We welcome anyone who supports our mission to end violence against women and girls. Whether you join in remembrance, solidarity, or a commitment to change, your presence helps raise strong voices to build safe lives.
Men as Allies — Supported by Norwich City Football Club
This year, the Night‑time Strut is proudly supported by Norwich City Football Club. Their involvement strengthens our focus on the essential role men play in ending VAWG.
True change requires men to be active allies — speaking up, standing up, and showing up. By walking together, we amplify the message that safety, respect and equality are everyone’s responsibility. When communities show up, attitudes shift — and safety becomes something we build, not just hope for.
Speak Up! Stand Up! Show Up!
The Route: Coming Together at Millennium Plain
The walk begins at Millennium Plain and leads participants through Norwich city centre towards Carrow Road, the home of Norwich City Football Club, where walkers will pause for a short break. From there, we will return together to Millennium Plain for an evening of remembrance and reflection.
At the end of the route, participants will be joined by the uplifting Invidia Voices Rock & Soul Choir, whose performance will set a powerful and unifying tone for the evening.
Norwich poet Helen Ivory will then share a poem written in response to violence against women and girls. Norwich poet Helen Ivory will then share a poem written in response to violence against women and girls. This will be followed by a moving reading of the names of women and girls who have lost their lives to male violence over the past year — a moment at the very heart of the Strut.
These collective reflections highlight the importance of awareness, education and community action.
The government's VAWG strategy is to half the number of women and girls affected by violence, reducing VAWG by 50% does not go far enough–this year to date, 107 women have been killed. This femicide must stop and our work will not be done until there is zero tolerance.
