World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day

“Every year we celebrate World Mental Health Day on 10 October. The theme for 2023, set by the World Foundation of Mental Health, is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’. World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive change for everyone’s mental health. It’s also a chance to talk about mental health, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling. Come together with friends, families or colleagues this World Mental Health Day, by holding a Tea & Talk!” Visit : World Mental Health Day 2023 | Mental Health Foundation

Volunteer recruitment presentation eveing

We were pleased to welcome four potential new volunteers to our recent presentation evening, hosted by Jade & members of the Doorway team. We were also delighted that Nicky Stainton, Communities Manager, Voluntary Norfolk, was able to attend to talk about GetINVolved and the Volunteer Passport - this course covers all the basic training, & to a good standard, that we need our volunteers to complete. We will continue with the recruitment process with Astrid, Emma, Prapti & Stella. Thank you ladies for your interest in The Magdalene Group.

NBHM23 Launch Event : Celebrating our Sisters

NBHM23 Launch Event : Celebrating our Sisters

"Just to say it was a fantastic day at the Forum joining Norfolk Black History Month for their Celebrating our Sisters event, with wellbeing partners such as Voluntary Norfolk, Norfolk Constabulary, Norfolk OPCC and Victim Care coming together to showcase and celebrate the support on offer to women of colour and marginalised groups across the county. With readings and spoken word performances from MBE authors and talks on anti-racism within education and youth justice it was an honour to be part of." Financial wellbeing

We were delighted to have Martin Moore - Employee Benefits Consultant, Beckett Financial Services - with us this morning, for our annual pensions review meeting. An interesting - & sobering presentation - followed by 1:1s to discuss our individual situations. We are very lucky to be given this opportunity by The Magdalene Group, who are keen to promote financial wellbeing amongst the staff team.

Neurodiversity in action training

"Excellent training from Reflex; informative, engaging and interactive. The role-play component enabled us to practise the skills needed to work effectively in scenarios, and the trainers made what could have been an anxiety-inducing activity feel comfortable and supportive."
