International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers : 17th December, 2022

International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers : 17th December, 2022

This day was created to call attention to hate crimes committed against sex workers all over the world. Inaugurated by Dr. Annie Sprinkle and started by the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA, the first annual day was in 2003 and was held as a memorial and vigil for the victims of the Green River Killer in Seattle, Washington. International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers has empowered workers from cities around the world to come together and organise against discrimination and remember victims of violence. MAP Celebration of Youth event

MAP held its Celebration of Youth event at the Norwich Arts Centre recently, presenting a showcase of the wonderful variety of youth work they do across Norfolk. Voluntary sector professionals, local government representatives and other partners were invited to attend to celebrate and learn more about the activities provided to support young people’s social wellbeing and personal development. As always, the event was led by young people, centred around their experience of youth work. "It was a great networking event to understand all of the wonderful projects MAP are running and meet the faces on the frontline. There are projects that we had never heard of which we are excited to start making use of for our clients!" Lauren, CSE Practitioner, who attended alongside young people's team colleagues, Laura & Jacqueline.
