Love Norwich Christmas Appeal

Love Norwich Christmas Hampers meet a very real and current need for people in Norwich. Food poverty is a huge problem in our city and the hamper appeal aims to relieve some of this stress and help families in need over the Christmas period. Love Norwich provides hampers for some of our service-users; in turn we support Love Norwich with donations/contributions. Please contact us on if you would like more information and/or would like to help provide Christmas dinner in a box... with love.

Crucial Crew

"What a fantastic three days it has been attending Crucial Crew and delivering vital internet safety information and advice to young people. Keep up the great work and stay safe." Jade Brophy, Young People's Worker.

Sheringham Shantymen

“ A huge thank you to the Sheringham Shantymen who made The Magdalene Group their annual charity for the year. Following a fun evening of spirited shanties and Norfolk humour at Cromer Pier Pavilion Theatre recently, the Shantymen presented us with a very generous cheque." Lucy Macleod, Trustee.

Norfolk Safeguarding Children Board : Safer training

"I attended the NSCB Safer Training, at the Abbey Conference Centre, Norwich, last week. Gorgeous venue. Good delivery by the speaker, ex-policeman talking about how everybody can best support young people by being aware of our safeguarding responsibilities and taking some simple steps. These steps include recording verbatim what you are told when young people make disclosures." Bianca Hedley Chilvers, Senior Young People's Worker.

North Norfolk Crucial Crew

“We will be attending North Norfolk Crucial Crew on 31st October, 1st and 2nd November. Crucial Crew is aimed at 10-11 year old children and is a multi-agency safety event. We have 10 minutes with each group to discuss on-line safety; we show a video about the dangers of talking to strangers on-line and then discuss how to stay safe.” Sophie Grimmer, Young People’s Worker (Jigsaw)

The Tricky Period project involves the libraries taking donations of products and handing them out to people who cannot afford them, with no questions asked about proof of eligibility. Staff at Tuckswood, Earlham, West Earlham, Mile Cross, Plumstead Road, St Williams Way and The Millennium libraries have been taking in donations of tampons, sanitary towels and carrier bags for the last few weeks ready to start the scheme on Thursday 28 September. The Magdalene Group supports this initiative & can provide its service-users with any sanitary products they require.
