Sessions for Professionals

Our popular occasional sessions for professionals continue online for the moment. Hosted by members of our Rose & Doorway teams, they provide not only an opportunity for us to share the work of The Magdalene Group but also for professionals from other agencies to talk about their roles and experiences, & between us we can share best practice. The next sessions take place from 10 - 11 a.m. on Wednesday 24th May & Thursday 22nd June; if you would like to attend either of these sessions, please contact the office on 01603 610256 to book a place, as numbers are limited.

Statistics from Museum of Homelessness

"New research from the Museum of Homelessness suggests that in 2022, 1313 people died while homeless. 85% of these deaths were people under the age of 65. Director of MoH Matt Turtle said, 'The government’s misguided approach to homelessness and housing has fatal consequences. A toxic cocktail of cuts, criminalisation and crackdowns is making life even harder for the UK’s most vulnerable people.' We are sending support from Norwich to the vigil taking place outside Downing Street from 6pm – 8pm today." Visit by Bishop Peter Collins

"The Magdalene Group was honoured to have a visit on Tuesday 28th March from the newly-appointed Bishop of East Anglia, Peter Collins. His predecessor had been one of our Patrons so it was a chance to tell him about our work and to invite him to take Bishop Alan Hope’s place. Bishop Peter comes from South Wales where most of his ministry has been but his studies took place in Spain and he knows the country well. Although he has had no direct knowledge of the lives some of our clients lead, he has seen, and is very aware of, the problems that exist both in that country and in Cardiff and was very supportive of what we do. He said he would be delighted to be a Patron, to pray for our staff and clients, to do anything he could to help and suggested that we contribute to his newsletter which Suzi is happy to do. We enjoyed his company, it was a delightful visit and I think I can speak for The Magdalene Group as a whole in saying that we look forward to a long association with Bishop Peter."
