Stalking and Harassment Statistics for Norfolk

There has been a dramatic increase since 2016 in the number of stalking cases reported to the police, with 65% of all crimes occurring in 2018-2019.
Out of the total cases between 2013-2018, 78.3% include a female victim and male suspect. Furthermore, 88.2% of all cases involved a male suspect, whereas
5.4% of the total cases involved a male victim and female suspect. stalking and harassment cases with male suspects tend to result in a greater fear of violence
amongst the victim. Racial/religiously aggravated harassment victims are less frequent when the suspect is of the opposite gender, but it is more frequent (22/29%)
when the victim and suspect are of the same gender.
