Thank you.

Only last week, we learnt of the horrific exploitation of over 70 children online.

A man from Northern Ireland who abused at least 70 children online and drove one to suicide has been sentenced to life in jail with a minimum term of 20 years in a “horrific” case that a judge said had caused “catastrophic damage” to young girls all over the world. Alexander McCartney, 26, admitted 185 charges including manslaughter, blackmail, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and producing and distributing indecent images of children

For 30 years, The Magdalene Group has been dedicated to supporting women and girls affected by abuse, exploitation, sexual violence, coercion and grooming. We work tirelessly to offer them a path to safety, recovery and empowerment.

This year has been incredibly special for us, filled with reflection and celebration. One of our key events was the Midnight Strut, a walk that brought over 100 women together to walk through the streets to raise awareness about the issues we tackle and ended with a midnight vigil to honour the lives of 108 women’s lives lost through male violence.

Our hope is to expand our reach and continue breaking the silence around violence against women and girls. We want to ensure that no woman or girl feels alone, unheard, or without options. By raising awareness, enhancing education and training programmes, and advocating for stronger protections, we aim to help create a society where women and girls are safe, empowered and respected.
