Harmful Sexual Behaviour conference

"I attended the last part of the recent Harmful Sexual Behaviour conference: "Working with HSB using a whole family approach." Some highlights: "An integrated service is needed," "Bringing an HSB and CSA (Child Sexual Abuse) team together," "Whole family service: referring the family, not only the child." I found the topic relevant and inspiring." Maria Novakova, CSE Practitioner, Rose Project

Serious Violence Duty 2

Such an opportunity to speak as a team - and on behalf of our service-users, who have been victims of sexual violence, exploitation and coercion - and to put forward views and experiences around the main issues relating to serious violence in Norfolk, including drivers and causes, those most affected and the wider impact on families, communities, and services; about what is working well in relation to the prevention and reduction of serious violence, the barriers, and challenges to tackling violence and gaps in service. Lots of questions but, as always, the team have many answers, and showed their usual passion with much lively discussion. It was such a useful session and so interesting to sit and observe our frontline practitioners at their very best!

Serious Violence Duty

Looking forward to Sherie Brown's visit this afternoon. She is the Serious Violence Communications and Engagement Officer at the Office of the Police and Crime Commission for Norfolk. This visit is an opportunity to express our views and experiences - and those of our service-users - around the main issues relating to serious violence in Norfolk, including those most affected and the wider impact on families, communities, and services. A Strategic Needs Assessment on serious violence is being prepared, as part of the response to the Serious Violence Duty. Sherie's role involves reaching out to different members of the community, to use their voice to shape the strategy; any information will be used to inform the Serious Violence Duty strategic needs assessment and in turn the Serious Violence Strategy.
