HerGameToo is supporting #TheGoal for White Ribbon Day, 25th November. HerGameToo is a voluntary organisation ran by female football fans, who are committed to fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally. The partnership highlights the synergy between White Ribbon UK’s aims to educate men and boys about gender equality, and HerGameToo’s focus on culture change to create safe environments for women and girls to live the lives they want to lead.

This year, White Ribbon Day, 25th November, falls on the same week as the start of the FIFA men’s World Cup. There has never been a better time for us to come together and start playing as a team to end violence against women and girls. All men can join the team to end violence against women and girls - that's #TheGoal. Whether you're a football fan or not, let’s work together to achieve gender equality. White Ribbon Day 2022 highlights 11 traits men and boys can nurture to help create a world of equality and safety for women. Support White Ribbon Day and make a difference towards ending violence against women and girls. Plan now to mark White Ribbon Day in your workplace, school, sports club, local pub and bars, and communities. There are ideas and resources free online. White Ribbons and lots more can be bought in the online shop. Together we can unite on White Ribbon Day, 25th November, to work towards ending violence against women and girls and achieve #TheGoal.

Inclusion Health Event

Suzi and Denise joined experienced and expert colleagues from across Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS) for presentations and the opportunity for in-depth conversations and Q&As about Inclusion Health. Inclusion health is a term used to describe people who are socially excluded, typically experience multiple overlapping risk factors for poor health (such as poverty, violence, and complex trauma), experience stigma and discrimination, and are not consistently accounted for in electronic records (such as healthcare databases). These experiences frequently lead to barriers in access to healthcare and extremely poor health outcomes. Suzi gave a presentation about the work of The Magdalene Group. The event was well attended with delegates attending in person and online.

Sessions for professionals

Our popular occasional sessions for professionals continue online for the moment. Hosted by members of our Rose & Doorway teams, they provide not only an opportunity for us to share the work of The Magdalene Group but also for professionals from other agencies to talk about their roles and experiences, & between us we can share best practice. The next session takes place from 10 - 11 a.m. on Tuesday 29th November; if you would like to attend, please contact the office on 01603 610256 to book a place, as numbers are limited. One of our most recent guests said "I found the session really helpful, thank you!
