Children in Need training

“Two members of our team attended training provided by Children in Need yesterday (26th June) where we received guidance in conducting monitoring and evaluation for our Outreach Project for 16-19 year olds. The day was very engaging and was invaluable in helping us to streamline our approach. The focus of the day was “Your Difference” and we were reminded of how much our work makes a difference in children and young peoples’ lives, and how that contributes to the wider work that Children in Need are funding nationwide.” Jess Hubbard

Jigsaw at Dereham

“Two members of the Jigsaw Team had a great time this morning at Dereham CofE Junior Academy, talking to four Year 6 classes about online safety and consent. We played our famous “toothpaste game” to show the children how difficult it is to get back personal information and images once they have been put online, and we used this fantastic resource to help us teach them about consent : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3nhM9UlJjc. The classes engaged brilliantly and it was a delight to work with them.” Jessica Hubbard

Naloxone training

"Today a number of The Magdalene Group team got involved in some Naloxone training provided by Haydn Orford, Prevention and Harm Reduction Worker, Change, Grow, Live (CGL) Norfolk. We learnt about Naloxone, how it can help a person who has overdosed on opioids, and how to administer it if necessary. This was some really interesting and potentially lifesaving training. Thursday 6th June: Feedback Mental Health conference on Loneliness and Isolation

Thursday 6th June: Feedback Mental Health conference on Loneliness and Isolation

"This Thursday I attended an amazing conference organised by Feedback Mental Health. The morning consisted of 8 incredible speakers who spoke about their own experiences of mental health, isolation and loneliness. They gave such powerful testimonies and the main aim was to humanise and de-stigmatise mental health through telling people's stories. There were some very poignant messages from the day, including the importance of a sense of belonging and being able to hold space for people, whilst working with those suffering with their mental health. It was an inspiring day and I have certainly taken away a lot from all the speakers. Great to see so many speakers and charities from across Norfolk as well!" Abbie Haines. (Left to Right : speakers are : Vincent Harrison, Sue Willgoss, Katherine Gilmartin, Josh Connolly, Ivan Humble and Tod Sullivan.)

Didn't know about our Affiliate Network?.... We run a membership network of faith-based projects who are responding to sexual exploitation in communities across the UK. Through events, training and a quarterly briefing we share good practice on supporting women to exit sexual exploitation. There are currently 35 projects in the network, the majority represented with us for the #LeadersGathering!" It is at The Royal Foundation of St. Katharine
