Cloth of Kindness

"The Drop-In room at The Magdalene Group received an exciting new addition this month with the presentation of a piece of textile art created by clients of our Doorway Women's Service with support from Sally-Anne & Gill from Cloth of Kindness. The fabric is constructed from squares, each hand sewn by a client and expressing what love and kindness mean to them as individuals. Each square is very different and very personal, with interpretations as varied as a shower, a cup of coffee, courage, light in the darkness, support, encouragement and friendship. The joined up squares have been backed with a soft, thick fabric to create a comforting blanket which now covers a chair and can be used by clients when warmth and love are particularly needed." Midnight Strut

The Midnight Strut last week was so powerful, with so many people coming together to make a stand against gender-based violence in our community. Thank you to BBC Radio Norfolk's Kayleigh Poacher for starting us off with a bang! We also want to thank Revd Naomi Tuma from St Peter Mancroft Church for honouring the 108 women lost to violence in a incredibly moving vigil. We will not forget their names. As part of our Midnight Strut next Wednesday, we will be holding a vigil to remember the 108 women who lost their lives to male violence in the last year (Counting Dead Women, 2024).
