Recent networking……..
29 May 2024
We were given the opportunity to showcase the two big events we have lined up this year – celebrating our 30th anniversary. Our CEO Suzi Heybourne presented to a room of Norwich professionals at the McTear Williams & Wood Network group held at BOND No. 28 Tombland. It was great to meet everyone, thank you for giving us a speaking spot. We had some really great conversations regarding the work we do, the wider issue of VAWG (violence against women and girls) and how it applies locally. We hope some of you can join us for our Midnight Strut in June, or our Pearly Ball in October. A special thanks to Caroline Brown, Regency Security, and Ange Brett, Chadwicks Limited, for all your support.
Midnight Strut

The Magdalene Group has worked with the most vulnerable and hidden women and girls in our society, victims of abuse, sexual violence, exploitation, homelessness and trafficking. As we move into our 30th year, we pledge our ongoing support to ensure all women, at every level in society, are free from sexual violence, coercion and exploitation. We'd love you to join us on our Midnight Strut.
Jigsaw presentation at UEA
22 May 2024
Our Training Coordinator Amy and Senior Doorway Practitioner Beth had the pleasure of training second-year midwifery students, from University of East Anglia, as part of our Jigsaw education and training programme. The session focussed on supporting sex-working women throughout their pregnancies, utilising findings from our Doorway project, as well as our expertise from 30 years of supporting exploited and disadvantaged women in Norwich. We were impressed with the engagement, candid conversations and empathy shown by these wonderful future midwives. We want to thank Katherine Letley for having us!
